The itm Rhenium PTA/PTCA® is a local irradiation of arteries from inside (Endovascular Brachytherapy). Aim of the therapy is the prevention of restenosis in periphery or cardiology.

The method is a supplementary treatment to a previous Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA). itm Rhenium-PTA® reduces the proliferation of cells in the treated area of the vessel, which is a common side-effect after conventional PTA. A renewed narrowing of the vessel is prevented.
